Mr. King does it again!

Stephen King's "The Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger"
4 out of 5 stars
Fiction, Fantasy, Western

This is the first installment of Stephen King's seven book Dark Tower series.
Roland (the gunslinger) is on a search for The Man in Black. The setting is placed in a magical wild west; in a parallel universe of sorts. (Where the world has moved on). There are bits and pieces of a world that once existed, but few know of it any longer.
The MIB is always 2 steps ahead of Roland and is convincing everyone he passes that Roland is the devil. Roland just can't seem to find a friend in the world; Until Jake.

We're not really sure any more than this in the first book. What are Roland's intentions? Is he good or evil? Why does he want to find this Man in Black so badly? Where is "the world that's moved on"? Will the killing ever end?

I can't wait to read the second!

Pros:

Exciting
Well written
On the edge of your seat read
Scary!

Cons:

Cold and Dark
Devastating turns and twists
I needed a hug after this.
